The Pirate Bay.org acheté par Warner Bros

Ca y'est, l'offre "d'achat" (traduction douteuse désolé) émise par Warner Bros pour acquérir The Pirate Bay est acceptée par ces derniers.

The Pirate Bay est un site permettant l'échange de fichiers torrents Basé en Suède, il se déclare « le plus grand serveur torrent du web », affirmant recevoir la visite d'un million de visiteurs par jour. Il propose aussi le plus gros tracker Bitorrent au monde.

En mai et juin 2006, il est régulièrement mentionné dans les journaux, car il symbolise la résistance contre les actions des majors d'Hollywood et une certaine réforme des droits d'auteurs.

The Pirate Bay dont les locaux sont basés à Stockholm, restera indépendant, et aucune délocalisation géographique des serveurs ne sera faite.
  Warner's Bros's travaillera simplement main dans la main avec The Pirate Bay sur une interface permettant le paiement online (semblable à itunes). Les internautes auront désormais la possibilité d'acheter leur dvd (musique/ etc...) favoris soit en téléchargement, soit en livraison direct.

C'est dont un grand pas fait par WB dans la tentative d'enrayement du piratage et dans le commerce en ligne, poussant un cran plus loin la dématerialisation du divertissement.
